Satellite ACARS – 05DEC21

Jaero, Satellite ACARS

Today I monitored satellite ACARS again and this time I tried receiving the 54W Inmarsat satellite. After some antenna pointing issues I got a hold of this 3F5. Also see https://thebaldgeek.github.io/Inmarsat.html for more information on how to find the satellites.

I intercepted some interesting military aircraft data, of which a small recap is given below. Tailnumber apr-33 is of course not correct but the HEX leads to 04-4133 which shows op correct later that day.

Of special interest are flights IMPAC73 and IMPAC71 en route over CONUS. I also logged various interesting new SITA codes (is that what you call those?) such as ATSUAXA, DUBOUEI, GTWEIXA, NYCODYA, PIKCPYA, REKCAYA, SMACAYA, SNNCPXA, YEGE2YA and YQXD2YA.
